Das Projekt femLENS bietet fünf Frauen die Möglichkeit, dokumentarische Fotografietechniken zu erlernen und mit Kamera und anderen einfach verfügbaren Mitteln wie Mobiltelefonkameras, visuell Geschichten zu erzählen. Zur Finissage der Wanderausstellung Kunst trotz(t) Ausgrenzung ist die Vernissage der Werke der Frauen geplant.
FemLENS ist eine in Estland ansäßige, international operierende Non-Profit-Organisation. Sie wurde 2015 von der Fotografin Jekaterina Saveljeva gegründet und wird durch ehrenamtliches Engagement getragen. www.femlens.com

femLENS is an Estonian-based international non-profit organisation. It was founded in 2015 by photographer Jekaterina Saveljeva and is supported by volunteer work. www.femlens.com Over the last 4 years femLENS has trained 43 women in 6 countries. We have worked with single mothers in Dublin, Ireland, women with disabilities in Gdynia, Poland, refugee women living in Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon, women and girls in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, women in rural southern Spain, and diverse migrant women in Berlin, Germany. We have organised 3 exhibitions, presented femLENS at various conferences and festivals, including TEDxLasnamae in Estonia. femLENS publishes a photography magazine “We See”. The two issues of the magazine have been downloaded more than 1000 times since March 2018.
You are invited to a two-day workshop on the basics of documentary photography run by femLENS in the frame of Kunst trotz(t) Ausgrenzung exhibition and event-program.
In the 2 meetings of 6 hours each we will cover briefly:
* the history of documentary photography
* mobile phone as a camera and photo techniques (light, composition, angle, etc)
* visual story techniques, story planning, story development
* editing, sequencing, sharing, printing
We also hope to have a vernissage of the photos produced during the workshops at the finissage of the touring exhibition Kunst trotz(t) Ausgrenzung in Berlin.
